Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation Price and Review
Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation Price and Review: I have a very fair (NC15) oily/combination skin. I got the shades, and rainbow-like colors ‘Light 41 Neutral’ (which I believe is the lightest shade?) It was too light for me. Wow, I’ve never had this problem! No biggie though just applied powder and bronzer, and that evened things out. Their shade range is AWESOME, and they cater for all skin tones from very light to very deep. The packaging is so Beautiful that I want to look at for hours, unique. Love the dispenser system. It has no lid. Only thing is a very thick plastic covering, which isn’t the most eco-friendly. Don’t think it’s recyclable either. Still one of the best packaging I’ve seen for a foundation.
The formula is slightly thick, full coverage is amazing. A little goes a long way, and it’s a tad hard to blend. But once it stays, it stays! Def best for oily skin. It lasts well all day which is great. The only place is fading is in the nose area by the end of the day which is expected anyway. I Got this in New Zealand for NZ $49, and I guess it worth it. It’s med-pricey in New Zealand. However, I think this is a pretty good price for the quality of the product compared to other brands. I would repurchase this. I have very oily skin, so I usually shy away from thick foundation because it will separate and slide off. This foundation was a pleasant surprise. It does not feel thick when it’s on. Honestly, I could wear it all day and not feel it on me at all, BUT it does look like it’s on. It’s not a flawless foundation; it’s a full coverage foundation. I don’t need concealer for most blemishes. I apply with a damp beauty blender and it applies beautifully IF I exfoliate, moisturize, and prime.
If I don’t exfoliate it will cling to every dry patch it can find, however, if it’s not too bad they slowly disappear because I’m just that oily. One pump is just enough to cover my entire face evenly. It did have a strange smell but I’d take a weird smell than a fragrance any day. I have tried applying with brushes but its so face drying that the brush doesn’t move it well and it streaks, the beauty blender was the best way to apply for me. It’s not a perfect match on me, it’s slightly lighter but I guess it oxidizes to a good shade because after 30 mins of wearing it, it warms to a really good match. If you’re dry I would stay away unless you can find a good moisturizing primer.
